LISA

Lisa and Wayne graduated in the same Bikram Yoga class in 2002. Lisa is enthusiastic, stubborn and fantastically emotionally attached to people who practice Bikram Yoga. She used to work a dumb job during the day and it made her appreciate teaching a lot, so she quit! She now teaches full time and sprends the rest of her time with her puppies. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Florida (Latin American and Caribbean Studies) and is a native to Jamaica. Lisa is a fan of the balmy oven that Bikram Yoga offers.

Lisa's interpretation of Bikram Yoga goes like this:

  1. This is Bikram's torture chamber, not Bikram's lounge.
  2. Stay in the room!
  3. Kill yourself in the most delicious way but don't show the pain.
  4. Appreciate the yoga for its accountability and come to yoga even when you don't feel like you're going to have the strongest class.
  5. EXERT YOURSELF!!!
  6. Stick your tongue out at your teacher every once in a while. Just be prepared when you get it right back!
  7. Be still and admire your efforts.
  8. Take the time in your class to be of benefit to yourself and others.
  9. Don't be afraid to wear flattering clothes to class. It makes it interesting for all of us.
