We teach certified Bikram's Beginning Yoga the way Bikram, himself, taught us to teach. Bikram Yoga is perfect for beginners and practicing yogis alike. Bikram Yoga is a specific series of postures ("asanas") organized to give you a complete yoga practice in 90 minutes. Your instructor guides the class, explains the postures and gives corrections to keep you safe and encourage you to deepen your practice.
Please arrive 15 - 20 minutes before the start time of your first class. No reservations are needed but you are required to fill out necessary forms and meet with your teacher.
Always come to class well-hydrated.
Bring a bath-sized towel and yoga mat. Clean rental mats and towels are available for $2 each.
Remember to scan in every time you come to class.
Inform each teacher of important medical information prior to each class.
Our instructors are professionally trained and certified. Listen to your instructor and follow their instructions. Please do not modify the postures on your own. This class is about your individual practice while keeping the class together. Please do as you are asked for your benefit.
Only the teacher may open or close the window coverings and doors or adjust the thermostat.
Please remain silent in the yoga room before and after class. Do not leave class until after the teacher has exited the room.
Place the middle of your mat over a line on the floor with your towel over the mat and water in a sealed plastic or metal container next to your mat. Bring only a mat, towel and non-glass water bottle in the yoga room with you. Do not bring shoes, socks, extra clothing, watches, keys, purses, gum or food of any kind into the yoga room. Cell phones are not permitted at Yogagroove.
New Bikram Yoga students should place themselves towards the back of the room to see others perform the poses.
Class is 90 minutes long. You must arrive on time and remain in the room for the entire duration for your practice and safety and out of courtesy to others. Please do not leave the room. If you are having difficulty, stand still with your arms to your sides. If you are dizzy or faint, “take a knee” or sit down facing the front of the room. If you are still having difficulty, you may lie on the floor. This class is about building stamina and strength. Your next class will be even better.
Enjoy yourself and your practice! Develop goals and discover the amazing benefits you'll receive from practicing Bikram Yoga. This is a basic, intense workout! You'll be amazed how you feel after just a few classes. If you need a testimonial, ask anyone in class or read a few testimonials online.
